Commissioner's Note - November 13, 2021

Good Morning,

We would like to thank all of the Waxhaw Flag Football Families who registered for our 2021/2022 Season. Registrations are now CLOSED and we are starting the process of building the divisions, assigning coaches and building out the automated draft. This is a bit of a process and will take a little time. We have in excess of 350 players for this season!! Once we have all of the players rostered and teams set, coaches will start to reach out to parents. Practice dates and times will be communicated at that time. Games to kick off in early December! More to come!!

Commissioner's Note - November 12, 2021

We are excited to get our 2021/2022 season up and running and we are thrilled to have your kids as part of our program. This is our 10th Year running Waxhaw Flag Football and with that we will have a few changes. Our Fonder and long time Commissioner Justin Newton will be finishing out his time with us this season. Joining us is Josh Jordan, Troy Cartagena, Brian Holland, and Clint Webster to become our co-Commissioners, plus additional help from Derrick Pollack from the WAA Board. This season you'll see them a lot as Justin transitions out of his role. He's been such an amazing part of the WAA program as Commissioner and as VP of WAA over the past 10 years. This program wouldn't exist without his leadership.

Many of you have asked about Player Evaluations. For this season the Commissioners have decided to cancel evaluations and will place players via an automated "draft" based on age group. Jerseys will be more traditional shirt style, meaning they should fit like a normal t-shirt and will not require try-on fitting. Many have requested special conditions such as partnering with other players' families for carpools, friend requests, coach requests, etc. These will be taken into account as we complete the rostering process. While we offer this, placement is not guaranteed but we will make every effort to accommodate.

If you have further questions, please contact wxwflagfootball@gmail.com. Further updates for rostering, coach assignments, schedules, etc, will follow in the coming days. We look forward to having you with us this season! Please keep an eye on https://www.wxwathletics.org/flagfootball and our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/WaxhawFlagFootball.

Commissioner's Note - September 21, 2021

We are working towards opening 2021/2022 Registration very soon!! Keep an eye on our website and our Facebook Page for additional updates as they become available.

Thank you
