Below are some of the most frequently asked questions pertaining to Waxhaw Soccer Club.

Q:  My child and a friend would like to play on the same team.  Is this possible? - While this is a very common request, we cannot guarantee placement. Due to Age Rules, players typically cannot "play up" and will play in their appropriate age group. With more than 700 players in a season, it is extremely difficult to align teams, schedules, and players for all of our families. 

Q:  My child already has a commitment on "Wednesday nights", but he really wants to play soccer.  Can he be placed on a team that doesn't practice on "Wednesdays"? - Team practice days and times depend on coach and field availability.  Our coaches in REC/EDP/Micro are volunteers and the practice schedules depend on their schedules. However, we make every effort to honor parent requests and can look at team changes on a case by case basis. Please enter your schedule conflicts in the comments section during the registration process and we will do the best we can. 

Q:  Ages & Birth Years are listed for the various Programs that Waxhaw Soccer offers, but what is the cut-off date? - The age cut off date is December 31st as FIFA rules dictate Birth Year. 

Q:  Online registration has closed but I would like to know if I can still register my kids to play? - We do try to make exceptions for players to register past the closed date. Our registrations are open 2 months prior to the season, but with many families moving to the area as well as busy schedules, we try to make exceptions. 

Q:  I registered my child to play, but he has changed his mind.  May I get a refund? - Our policy is to offer NO REFUNDS except for extraordinary circumstances (season ending injury or family relocation outside of the immediate area).  If this request comes before we roster players, we can make exceptions on a case by case basis.

Q:  Registration is closed, but I have not heard from a coach.  What should I do? - Because of the last minute flood of registrations, rosters are made the week after registration closes.  If you have not heard from a coach and practices should be starting, please let us know.  

Q:  How do I get a season schedule? - With our website, schedules for your family will be available to view through your account with SportsEngine.  Once the schedules are finalized for each of your children's activities, all you have to do is login to your account.  SportsEngine offers a Mobile App as well to track your child's schedule, contact the coach and more! 

Q:  What is your weather cancellation policy? - There are several factors that we take into account - current weather, forecasts and field conditions. Because our N.C. weather is often sporadic, we try to wait as long as possible to cancel practices and games.  The determination is typically made by 3:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am on Saturdays. Field closure notifications will be made to coaches and members via email.  If this is not the preferred method for contacting you, please let your coach know.  An alert will also be present at WXWAthletics.comWaxhaw Soccer Club FacebookWaxhaw Athletics Facebook & Waxhaw Soccer Club Instagram indicating any HOME field closures.
