Q:  I registered my child to play, but he has changed his mind.  May I get a refund? - Please see the WAA Policies & Terms regarding Refunds. Specifically for baseball, If the request is made before the start of games, you may receive a partial refund. We follow the WAA Refund Policy, but a $25 administrative fee will withheld if the request occurs before Evaluations & Player Draft. After the Player Draft, the WAA Refund Policy would be followed.

Q:  My child and a friend would like to play on the same team.  Is this possible? - Please refer to our Draft Rules tab regarding requests to play with others. 

Q:  My child already has an evening commitment on a specific day,  but he really wants to play baseball.  Can he be placed on a team that doesn't practice on that specific? - Team practice days and times depend on coach and field availability. However, we make every effort to honor parent requests. 

Q:  Ages are listed for the various programs that Waxhaw Baseball offers, but what is the cut-off date? - The age cut off date is April 30th of the current year. For example, if your child turns 9 prior to May 1st of the current season, they would register for the Minors Division (Ages 9 - 10). This would be the player's age for both the Spring and Fall season for that year.

Q:  Online registration has closed, but I would like to know if I can still register my kids to play? - Some divisions may be full and other divisions may have open slots.  Send us an email at baseball@wxwathletics.org. We will review the request to see if we can accommodate.

Q:  Registration is closed, but I have not heard from a coach.  What should I do? - Because of the last minute flood of registration requests, plus evals & the draft, rosters are made the week after registration closes and/or the draft.  If you have not heard from a coach and practices should be starting, please let us know. 

Q:  How do I get a season schedule? - With our website, schedules for your family will be available to view through your account with SportsEngine.  Once the schedules are finalized for each of your children's activities, all you have to do is login to your account. SportsEngine offers a Mobile App as well to track your child's schedule, contact the coach and more! 

Q:  What is your weather cancellation policy? - Please see the WEATHER page on our site. There are several factors that we take into account - current weather, forecasts and field conditions. Additionally, since our fields are located within a Town of Waxhaw park, we must follow their weather policy, especially when it pertains to lightning and bad weather. Because our N.C. weather is often sporadic, we try to wait as long as possible to cancel practices and games. The determination is typically made by 3:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am on Saturdays. Field closure notifications will be made to coaches and members via email.  If this is not the preferred method for contacting you, please let your coach know.  An alert will also be present on the WXW Athletics Weather page, Waxhaw Baseball Facebook, & Waxhaw Athletics Facebook indicating any field closures.
