We are in the heat of summer and looking directly at the Fall! In just a few short weeks we will be starting our Fall 2024 Recreational, EDP, and MICRO soccer seasons. We kick off our season like most other Fall seasons, the first week of Back-to-School for UCPS, August 26th. This also means that we only have a few more weeks of open registration as well. We're excited to have our past seasons players back for this coming soccer year and we look forward to many new players on the pitch as well!

This year we have a new registration process. Same SportsEngine registration, New process! For this year we now allow parents to register their players for specific training days and times. This is a big change, but it allows you as a parent to decide the best option for your player and your schedule. We have all of this spelled out on our website, so we would encourage you to visit: https://www.wxwathletics.org/wxwsoccer-registration to learn more. Each age group has variations on days, times, and locations. That said, all days, times, and locations are specifically set up to allow for maximum amount of teams our facilities can handle. The Club however does reserve the right to adjust teams should not enough player register for a given day or time for the team.

We continue to train and play at three locations in the Waxhaw Area: H.C. Nesbit Park (Micro & EDP), New Town Elementary (U8-U9/10 Train; U13+ Games), and Western Union Elementary (U10-U16 Train; U8-U12 Games). Our facilities can be found HERE. As you are registering, you will see that each age group has specific locations for training as well as specific days & times. This means you already have your schedules going into training. Game schedules will be provided during the first two weeks of training.

New for the Fall as well, we will have a staggered start for games. Our REC U8-U16 Boys & Girls games will begin the weekend of September 7th through the Fall UCYS Tournament November 2 & 3. Our MICRO & EDP games will be September 14th through November 2. As always, MICRO & EDP play their games on Saturday mornings at Nesbit Park. Our REC U8-U16 teams play Saturday's and/or Sunday's depending on how UCYS schedules games. Sunday games start after 12pm just incase you're wondering. Home U8-U12 games are played at Western Union Elementary, while our U13-U16 teams play home games at New Town Elementary. Road games are played at the following locations: WCWAA, PARA, PRAA, MHAA, and ITAA. Our facilities can be found HERE.

Volunteer Coaches & Team Managers - We are an all volunteer athletic association. Plain and simple... We need volunteers to make the programs work. With the changes to the registration process, we will now call on parents from the registered teams to volunteer. If you have coached in the past, you already understand the process. We would love to have you back again this season. When you are registering your player, please indicate that you will volunteer to coach. Each season we do call on parents to volunteer up until the first days of practice, so we really need you all to volunteer earlier! Starting this season, U8-U16 Teams require a volunteer Team Manager. This new volunteer role will manage Referee Fees and other needs for the coaches. This is a mandatory role to be filled by a parent from the team. Coaches & Team Managers do need to complete the 2024/2025 WAA Coach & Volunteer Application online as well. This is for rostering purposes, but it is also for background checks and SafeSport training.

As we mentioned, there are just a few more weeks of open registration for Fall Recreational Soccer. Our registration closes on August 11th at 11:59pm. Any request to register after the 11th, if there is an available opening, will incur a $100 Late Fee. We only have 2 weeks to build out and prep for the season, so while there is an opportunity to register late, we must encourage everyone to register before the 11th. For U8-U16, UCYS needs a final team count that week, so it's imperative to be registered on time.
