November 14, 2024 - Charlotte, NC - Several Waxhaw Soccer Club players recently had the opportunity to participate in Charlotte FC's “CLTFC Open Scrimmage Night (Football In The Community)” event in Uptown this past week. This unique opportunity allowed young players to train and play on the same fields as their professional heroes.
The event, designed to foster a sense of community among local soccer players, featured small-sided games with an emphasis on fun and player development. Waxhaw Soccer Club players were able to showcase their skills and compete against other talented young athletes from the greater Charlotte area.
“This was a fantastic experience for our players,” said Ben Ashby, VP of Waxhaw Soccer Club, whose own children participated. “It was a great opportunity for them to train with top-level coaches and play on professional fields. We’re grateful to Charlotte FC for organizing this event, inviting our club and players to register, and providing our players with this unforgettable experience.”
Charlotte FC continues to be a strong advocate for youth soccer development in the region, through their Community Engagement Program, and provide events like this help to inspire the next generation of soccer stars.
As a Club, we are thrilled that our players were able to participate and learn from the team at Charlotte FC! We will continue to work with the Community Engagement team to offer additional experiences for our Club Members and Athletes.
