Hello Everyone,  I wanted to give you all an update on the basketball front.

• Committee - WAA is looking for a few good folks to join the basketball committee. This DOES NOT mean that you will be the sole person running the sport. We have a great person that has experience already in Jarrika and I am willing to help as I ran basketball a few years ago. This also means that we will not be starting by posting for specific roles either. What we are planning is to see who applies, identify their areas of expertise/experience, and then place them into roles that they will enjoy. THIS IS STEP #1 that we MUST achieve ASAP.
• SUMMER Basketball - There will be a TEMPORARY hold as we are looking for the committee to help in running the summer program. This will be an "appetizer-sized" bite compared to what the winter program will be like so it is GREAT practice.
• SUMMER Basketball (part 2) - Some of you have asked me if you could bring more than 4 players that you know into the league and unfortunately that is not what we have planned. If circumstances change (and I can see a scenario where it may) we can discuss it later but first things first - we need a committee, folks.

One final thing - What are we NOT looking for? We are not looking for someone to be a commissioner of a specific age group. We ARE looking for people that may fit into slots like: Treasurer, Rules Lead, Schedule Manager (one for games & one for practices), Social Media guru, Fundraising, etc.
