U7 Junior academy

Our Junior Academy program is for players and families who are looking for deeper soccer training experience. Junior Academy is a program that is being created to bridge the gap between Waxhaw’s Early Developmental Program (EDP) and our National Youth Academy (USYS) program.

Players will be exposed to a format of training that we use in our current Youth Academy (United States Soccer Federation and NCYSA curriculum). Coaching methodology will emphasize individual technical training and team-based skills training using small-sided games to provide an inspiring and fun environment. We are looking to mold passionate, confident, and skillful players, while also allowing them the freedom and creativity to learn the game by playing the game.

What the program offers

• USSF Licensed Coaching
• Training Sessions twice a week with a pool of like-minded players, similar skill sets, and complimentary athletic ability (60 minutes each)
• A progressive weekly plan that covers the entire season, where players have weekly topics that build on each other as the season matures.
• Games against teams within our Club and Junior Academy programs in the Charlotte area 

**Games against other Junior Academies are not guaranteed, specifically when playing smaller clubs seeing as they may not have these special programs due to club size.**

Eligibility

• Players must be born in 2018 for the 2024/2025 season
• Players must register and attend evaluations (April 2024; $25/Fee)
• Practices are only 1 hour compared to 1 hour and 15 minutes
• Players purchase their own training and game kit.

Tuition Fees

• Full Year U7 Junior Academy - $700 + Team Fees, Uniforms, etc.

U8-U10 youth Academy

Our National Youth Academy program is a player development program for committed young soccer players looking to advance to the next level of competitive play. At this level, we focus on individual player development with emphasis on technical skills and tactical knowledge. All players rotate positions and learn skills associated with these positions. Academy offers a positive, engaging, and rewarding experience that is not overtly focused on results (wins vs. losses). The idea is that if we focus on developing the player and putting them in the best training situations with our best coaches, for a faster rate of growth within the game.

Players will be exposed to a format of training that we use in our current Youth Academy (United States Soccer Federation and NCYSA curriculum). Coaching methodology will emphasize individual technical training and team-based skills training using small-sided games to provide an inspiring and fun environment. We are looking to mold passionate, confident, and skillful players, while also allowing them the freedom and creativity to learn the game by playing the game.

This program structure is endorsed by the US Youth Soccer (USYS) and the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA).

training & Games

Academy teams will generally have two practice sessions per week lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes each. There will be optional Teachnical Training and Goalie Training as well.

• Games will be played on Saturday mornings in a friendly format against teams inhouse and from the greater Charlotte area.  
• Depending on the number of teams participating in these games, a team could play two games on a given day to fill out the schedule.  
• Each team will participate in at least one tournaments per year. Cost of tournaments will be covered at the parent's expense.
• Practices will be held at either H.C. Nesbit Park on Field 6  and/or Field 7.

ELIGIBILITY

Waxhaw Soccer Club now offers TWO Academy level soccer programs for our U8-U10 (2017-2015) players:

• Developmental Academy
• National Youth Academy

Tuition Fees

• U8-U10 Developmental Academy
  • $700 + Team Fees, Uniforms, etc. (Full Year Commitment)
• U8-U10 National Youth Academy
  • $900 + Team Fees, Uniforms, etc. (Full Year Commitment)

U8-U10 Developmental Academy

• Players must register and attend evaluations (April 2024; $25/Fee)
• Players will be evaluated by our professional coaching staff for either Developmental Academy or National Youth Academy
• Developmental Academy is for young players that have experience in the game. Through the evaluation process, these players have been identified and invited into the program by our Academy Director.
• This program will be focused on skill development and putting players of like ability in a more challenging environment.
• Players will learn to develop their soccer skills through ability groups and team environments. The emphasis will be placed on the development of their individual skills.
• 2024/2025 Fees: $700 (ref fees included; $100 acceptance fee due within 48 hours of offer)
• Potential Schedules: (12) games weekends in the Fall - (9) game weekends in the Spring + tournament games
• Practices are 1 hour and 15 minutes
• Players purchase their own training and game kit.

U8-U10 national youth Academy

• Players must register and attend evaluations (April 2024; $25/Fee)
• Players will be evaluated by our professional coaching staff for either Developmental Academy or National Youth Academy
• 2024/2025 Fees: $900 (ref fees included; $200 acceptance fee due within 48 hours of offer)
• Potential Schedules: (12) games weekends in the Fall - (9) game weekends in the Spring + tournament games
• Practices are 1 hour and 15 minutes
• Players purchase their own training and game kit.
