Recreational Program (Rec; Ages 7-15)
Our Recreational Soccer program is about encouraging kids and their love of the game. Right now, our kids deserve some sense of normalcy, an outlet to exercise, and the opportunity to continue friendships and make new ones. Our recreational program will provide a safe environment for kids who want to continue playing the game they love or who want to give the sport a try - no matter their age or experience - and find out why it is the most popular sport in world!
We're excited to introduce our brand new Director of Recreational Soccer, Jack McCabe.
Jack is originally from Long Island, NY. As a youth, he played for LIJSL Select Program and Rockville Centre Soccer Club. In High School, he earned All NY State Honors. In the 1995, Jack went on to play collegiately for the SUNY Albany Great Danes where he was a 3-year starter at mid field.
After moving to Charlotte for a position with Wells Fargo Bank in 2008, he began coaching his 2 oldest daughters, Madelyn and Monica, soccer teams for 5 years with the Carolina Rapids Soccer Club in the Fall and Spring. Jack also coached in the winter with Strikers Soccer. Jack’s youngest daughter, Mary-Kate, currently plays ECNL with the Charlotte Independence.
If he isn’t watching/ coaching soccer, you can find him some Sunday nights out on the pitch still playing. Although Jack still might have some skill left, the speed and stamina have decreased drastically!!!

Don Reda is originally from Long Island, New York where, after a four-year soccer career at James Madison University, he coached boys' high school and club soccer for four years on Long Island.
In 1989, Don moved to Charlotte and has since been part of the Charlotte soccer community for over twenty-five years. With three daughters growing up in soccer, Don moved to the girls' game and started coaching them at MARA. While at MARA, he was part of a group of coaches that brought Challenge and Classic Girls soccer to Charlotte. He continued by coaching at Charlotte Soccer Club for over ten years with Classic girls' teams ages 11 - 14. He then joined Charlotte Soccer Academy for a few years with U11 and U12 girl’s teams. Additionally, Don coached in the high school ranks in Charlotte as a Waddell assistant and a Providence High School JV coach for a season.
Essentially, Don's seen it all, working with the likes of notable Charlotte coaches like Sean Bubb (Florida Elite Soccer Academy), Tim Santoro (NC State Head Coach), John Cullen (UNC-Charlotte), and Adam Denton (Davidson).
Don has coached several Classic teams for Waxhaw at U11, U12, U13, and U14 age groups. He currently works in Waxhaw's youth development Micro and EDP.
